The Second Flame Program

Give your jars a second life — and get rewarded for it.
At Thread & Crumb, sustainability isn’t a trend — it’s part of who we are.

Our Second Flame Program invites you to return your used candle jars or tins so they can be cleaned, refilled, or repurposed instead of tossed away. Together, we keep beautiful containers out of landfills and spark new beginnings with every burn.

How It Works

  1. Clean it up

    • Remove leftover wax (a quick freezer pop or hot-water soak does the trick).

    • Wipe out residue and remove old labels if possible.

  2. Return or Drop Off

    • Bring jars to our next market booth or mail them back to us.

  3. Earn Rewards

    • Receive $2 credit toward your next purchase for every jar or tin you return.

    • Return five or more at once and receive a bonus surprise in your next order.

    • Credits are added through our loyalty program — no code needed.

Each jar that’s reused saves:

  • The energy and resources needed to create a new container

  • Packaging waste from shipping replacements

  • Up to ½ lb of glass from entering landfills

Small, consistent choices like this make a lasting impact — and we’re so grateful you’re part of it.

Ways to Reuse at Home

If returning jars isn’t convenient, here are a few creative reuses:

  • Mini planters or propagation jars

  • Cotton-round, Q-tip, or matchstick holders

  • Storage for spices, tea, or bath salts

  • Desk, craft, or vanity organization
